This statement perhaps coming from a former number one man has been taken as a motivational speech by some desperate politicians to kill their way through power. Politics in Nigeria has become a battle to be won by the most heartless and callous individuals, no wonder credible people with sound vision who cannot harm a fly not to talk of killing a fellow human being decided to leave the governance of the country in the hands of mediocre.
It would have been reluctantly understandable if the desire by these desperate politicians to gain power by all means was borne out of genuine and sincere desire to serve but the madness and hunger for power was for a completely selfish motive which is stealing and amassing the public treasury illegally.
As preparation for 2011 election is at top gear, the desperate politicians will be going around promising heavens and earth if voted into power. Unsuspecting citizens will also sell their votes for a ridiculous sum of money perhaps as a result of joblessness and poverty. But what do they get in return? Noting than absolute penury as the so call leaders will not only shot all their doors to the public outcry but will deny the citizens of the basic amenities when they eventually found themselves in the corridor of power.
It is only in my country that provision of basic amenities like water and electricity is considered an achievement worth celebrating. The Vervet Monkey was previously classified as Cercopithecus aethiops. The Vervet and Malbrouck have often been considered conspecific, or as subspecies of a widespread Grivet.[3]
There is five distinct subspecies of Vervet Monkey.[4]

* Chlorocebus pygerythrus hilgerti from southern Kenya[5]
* Chlorocebus pygerythrus nesiotes
* Chlorocebus pygerythrus pygerythrus from South Africa, Botswana,[5][6] Lesotho and Swaziland.[6]
* Chlorocebus pygerythrus rufoviridis from Mozambique[5] and Uganda[7] has a distinctly reddish coloured back which is darker towards the base of the tail.[8]

The Vervet Monkey has a black face with a white fringe of hair, while the overall body colour is mostly grizzled-grey.[9] The males have a pale blue scrotum.[10] The species exhibits sexual dimorphism, the males are larger in weight and body length. In the wild adult males weigh between 3.9 and 8.0 kilograms (8.6 and 18 lb), averaging 5.5 kilograms (12 lb), and have a body length between Template:420, averaging 490 millimetres (1.61 ft) from the top of the head to the base of the tail. Wild adult females weigh between 3.4 and 5.3 kilograms (7.5 and 12 lb) and average 4.1 kilograms (9.0 lb), and measure between 300 and 495 millimetres (0.98 and 1.624 ft), averaging 426 millimetres (1.398 ft).[11][8]

The Vervet Monkeys is diurnal and social; living in groups of up to 38.[12] There is a clear order of dominance among individuals within the group.

The Vervet Monkey uses different sounds to warn of different types of predators; they have distinct calls to warn of the sighting of a leopard, a snake, or an eagle. These sounds have been considered a protolanguage by many ethologists.
The young appear to have an innate tendency to make these alarm calls, and adult monkeys seem to give positive reinforcement when the young make the right call, by repeating the alarm. Mothers have been reported to punish young giving the wrong call.[13]

The Vervet Monkey eats a wide range of fruits, figs, leaves, seeds and flowers. It also eats birds’ eggs and young chicks, and insects (grasshoppers and termites). In human inhabited environments it will eat bread and various crops; especially maize.

The Vervet Monkey ranges throughout much of Southern and East Africa, being found from Ethiopia, Somalia and extreme southern Sudan, to South Africa. It is not found west of the Great Rift Valley or the Luangwa River,[1] where it is replaced by the closely related Malbrouck (C. cynosuros). The Vervet Monkey inhabits savanna, riverine woodland, coastal forest and mountains up to 4000 m (13,100 ft). They are adaptable and able to persist in secondary and/or highly fragmented vegetation, including cultivated areas, and sometimes found living in both rural and urban environments.[15]
Introduced Vervets also occur in Barbados, the Caribbean, Saint Kitts, and Nevis.

Despite non-human primates in South Africa being listed as a species that could become threatened if populations are not monitored (C.I.T.E.S Appendix 2),[16] these species are not monitored and their true status remains unknown.
In spite of low predator populations in many areas where human development has encroached on wild territories, this species is killed by electricity pylons, vehicles, dogs, pellet guns, poison, and bullets and is trapped for traditional medicine, bush meat, and for biomedical research.[17] The Vervet Monkey has a complex and fragile social system, its persecution is thought to have affected troop structures and diminishing numbers.
According to recent distribution maps, the Vervet Monkey is quickly disappearing in the Western Cape of South Africa where they are heavily persecuted. Abstract
The plant communities of the Blydeberg Conservancy were investigated as part of a research project on the foraging ecology of vervet monkeys Cercopithecus aethiops pygerythrus (senso lato) in mixed lowveld bushveld and sour lowveld bushveld areas. To date there are no formal management plans for vervet monkeys. This is attributed to the limited knowledge of vervets and their utilisation of and impacts on ecosystems. From a TWINSPAN classification refined by Braun-Blanquet procedures, ten plant communities that can be placed into four major groups were identified. A classification and description of these communities, including a vegetation map are presented. Diagnostic species as well as prominent and less conspicuous species of tree, shrub, herb and grass strata are outlined. Of the ten available plant communities, the vervets utilised only six during the study period. There was an abundant supply of various food sources throughout the year, with movement patterns mostly coinciding with the fruiting times of several tree and other plant species.

“We were shocked” is the researcher response, after reviewing the results of a 6 year study, testing the impact of fast food ‘killer fats’, commonly known as trans fats, on Vervet monkeys.
Chicago, Illinois October 12, 2006 The study, conducted by the Wake Forest University Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, replicated the typical human consumption of fast foods, cooked in trans or partially hydrogenated oils (PHO).
One group of monkeys was fed a diet of 8% trans fats, 27% good fats, such as olive oil (the representative fat make up and level of a typical human fast food eater).
Another group had the same diet, with safer, mono-unsaturated, or healthy fats, substituted in place of trans fats.
In June, 2006, after seven years of research evaluation, Kyle Kavanagh, a spokesperson for Wake Forest University Medical Center, presented the findings to the American Diabetic Association in Washington D.C.
As reported by NewScientist news service, “Monkeys fed a diet rich in trans-fats, commonly found in fast foods grew bigger bellies than those fed a diet rich in unsaturated fats, but containing the same number of calories. They also developed signs of insulin resistance, an early indicator of diabetes.”
Monkeys on the trans fat diets gained weight equivalent to 7.2% of their body weight. Monkeys in the non-trans fat group gained only 1.8%.
The trans fat monkeys also showed 30% more abdominal fat – a risk factor for diabetes and heart disease.
Referring to the documented increase in stomach fat and insulin resistance caused by the trans fat diet, Kavanagh stated that “this is walking them straight down the path to diabetes.” Excess weight is accepted as one of the key factors in controlling early Diabetes.
Among fast food chains using trans fats are McDonalds, Burger King, Applebees, Krispy Kreme and Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). Wendy’s has recently removed trans fats from their cooking process. KFC is currently being sued for continued PHO usage.

Women are physically different than men. Duh. No, I’m not talking about plumbing or other physical differences. I am speaking about the differences between the physical wiring of our brains.
Women are more right brained or intuitive than men. Women want to know what you’re thinking and feeling and they seem to just “know” things no one told them. On the other hand, men are more left-brained or labor ready. Men want to find the object for a problem and then fix it. Just tell them what you want, and you’ll get it.
On the dance floor, men lead by Design. For a man to follow is really difficult because they are not built that way. It would be like asking a zebra to put on a saddle and go trail riding. Not gonna happen.
Women can “feel” the lead. Her brain can see a man’s body language. She just feels him moving his shoulders to change their direction on the dance floor. In the same way it is difficult for a man to follow, it is just as difficult for a woman to lead. I do believe that good dance teachers who can lead and follow are by Design.
So, you might call a ballroom dancing couple a left and a right. The left leads and the right follows – a matched set — like book ends. If the right book end runs around to the left book end to see if they are doing the correct job – all the books would fall down and vice versa.
